Goodmans found the Surface Miner very effective in hard rock where conventional ‘ripping’ with a Cat D10 was proving to be ineffective.
The Sandstone was cut in multiple pass-es of up to 600mm in depth and laid down on the trimmed surface for pick up.
The excavated material was cut to uniform size. An all passing 150mm product was produced. Once removed, the sur-face was smooth with only slight evidence of cut marks still visible.
No blasting or ripping required!
